Local Loggerhead Triathlon Carlin Park
This weekend we had the annual Loggerhead Triathlon at Carlin Park. They close the beach road for this annual event which continues to become larger each year. The first race began in 1985 where less than 100 people did the race. Today the race has grown to over 600 athletes who train year round for this event. Athletes are all sizes, shapes and ages which makes for a fun filled race. We have everyone from the serious tri athlete who have bikes especially  designed for this type of race and costing well over $5,000 to the not so serious athlete on a mountain bike.Â
Jupiter Bike Race
The beach rd is blocked off from Indiantown Rd down to Juno Beach for this event. The event begins at the Jupiter Reef Club this year which is a local timeshare sitting directly on the sand here in Jupiter. Â The first leg of the race is a 3/8 mile swim which exits at Carlin Park where the 600 bikes are staged for the next leg of the race. From there they begin the race down A1A into Juno Beach past the rows of oceanfront condos here in Jupiter and Juno Beach. So if you live in one of those condos you can enjoy a front row seat for the event. The 13 mile bike run down to Juno and back ends the second leg of the race. The final leg is the 3.1 mile run which begins where the bike race began and back along the beach rd a mile and a half and ending back at Carlin Park for a 3 mile run. The top finishers complete the race in about an hour while the just here for fun may take upwards of 2 hours. It is a great time by all and no matter if you are a serious athlete or a weekend warrior come out and enjoy the race at Carlin Park. Don't forget to put it on your calender for next year.
Jupiter Beach Condos
If this is something that interests you, living by the beach in Jupiter is an excellent place to train. You will see bikers and runners at all hours using the beach rd as their training ground. What better place to train then along the beach rd as you watch the ocean and enjoy the wonderful ocean breezes. Along the beach we have several single family communities such as Ocean Walk and Olympus. On the less expensive end we have beautiful townhomes starting at just over $200,000 such as Seabrook or Oceanside Terrace. Down in Juno Beach you can live directly on the sand in one of the few oceanfront condos Juno Beach that line the beach. Much quieter than Jupiter , Juno Beach is almost a private beach with very little public parking. Sorry no dogs allowed on this beach. Â A great place to live and play, come see what beach living in Jupiter is all about.Â
