Buying a Jupiter home or condo
Starting a search for a Jupiter home or condo may seem like a simple task but it may be more challenging than you thought. Sounds crazy I know but once you make your Jupiter home wish list and put a budget number to that list you may be surprised but the few choices you have. Today if I thought about moving I would be hard pressed to put my house on the market in search of a replacement home. I see hundreds of new homes come up for sale and very few properties really catch my eye. I would be hard pressed to sell and find a replacement without spending hundreds of thousands more to upgrade my home.
Jupiter homes for sale
Abacoa in Jupiter is one of the largest developments here in Jupiter. With over 8 subdivisions in Abacoa there are just 12 homes for sale under $500,000 with most homes being just 2,000 sq. ft under air. If anyone has looked at an Abacoa home unless you are buying in Mallory Creek you are getting builder grade finishes. Kitchen cabinets are white thermofoil with granite tops and white appliances. You aren't going to go in and say "Wow" this is a beautiful kitchen. Most of the homes are built between 1997 and 2004 so they are pushing 15 years so they may need some updating. Your choices are limited even at $500,000. It is a very popular Jupiter community and we sell a lot of Abacoa homes.
Jupiter oceanfront condos
Oceanfront condos in Jupiter and Juno Beach, buyers are facing the same dilemma. Shortage of inventory and worse yet most of the condos are 25 and 30 years old. Under $600,000 in Juno Beach we have two oceanfront condos for sale. $600,000 and two condos to chose from. Both need some updating. Many of the condos are seeing the need for sliders to be replaced. The least expensive Jupiter ocean condo built after 2000 is $850,000 or $425/sq. ft.
Inventory Shortage of Jupiter Properties
As you can see this is what frightens me if I sold my home. I don't want to buy something just to live in and not find that dream home. Can't bring it back and trade it in a few months later. The increasing demand shall continue to push prices higher even if the price rises level off because what we are seeing is more homes needing updating. It's not just the initial purchase price but the upgrades many of the homes really need.
