Each week I get many calls from out of state buyers looking for a deal. They have heard the market is Florida is terrible and the seller's are just giving homes and condos away. This is far from the truth if you want to live in a descent neighborhood. Sure I can get you in a lousy neighborhood in West Palm, Boynton or other town here in Palm Beach County for $100,000 but if you want a nice condo expect to pay minimum $200,000 here in Jupiter. Oceanfront condos with views start at $350,000 and this will be an older condo. If you are looking for a condo built after 2000, you can expect to pay minimum $600,000 for a lower level to just over a million for a higher floor.
If you want a beachfront home where you can walk to the beach you are looking at $350,000 and most likely expect to pay over $500,000 and it will need some updating.
The most popular new community, Abacoa has townhomes and single family homes. Townhomes start about $200,000 and run to $300,000 while single family 3 bedroom homes start around $350,000. Don't expect to see a slew of foreclosures here either.
Jupiter had a very small amount of new construction compared to most communities so we have had our prices better then most areas. We have an incredible school system here in Jupiter which makes it very desirable for families.
Many of you will not believe me and think I am crazy when I tell you about the homes here because I hear my friend says so, or the paper says. Heck the Wall Street Journal says so. Who am I to dispute them? I mean you have some reporter in some other state reporting on home prices in South Florida. I'm sure they know more then me. They must they work for the Journal. When was the last time you read an article and knew the facts and then
read what the paper printed? I rest my case.
