Best Things About Living in Jupiter Florida

I've been living in Jupiter since 1997 when I moved here from Boca Raton which I had lived in since 1979. The reason I moved out of Boca Raton Fl was the town was becoming to busy and the quaint little beach town was no more.  Before moving to Jupiter I had looked at several other places up coast but stopped back in Jupiter on Memorial Day weekend. It had been years since I visited Jupiter but after seeing other parts of Florida I decided to move here. The best things I like about living in Jupiter Florida is it reminded me of the way Boca Raton was when I first moved there. It was still a quiet little beach town but had nice amenities and you were still close to airports, attractions and my friends from Boca.

I remember first moving here when I searched the Palm Beach Post for homes for sale in Jupiter back before the Internet was what it is today. I remember the ad. Beach cottage , 5 house from the beach. $169,000. No photos to look at. I called the agent and came up to see the home in Xanadu by the Sea. I saw three other homes that day and decided to buy the house. When I first moved in most of my neighbors were snowbirds so the community was very quiet. Across the street was the beach, behind me was Carlin Park with beautiful park views, a fitness trail, tennis courts and an outdoor theater. Just around the corner was Publix, the gym and the movie theater. There was no Jupiter RiverWalk yet or our Jupiter Inlet Funky Fishing Village. You pretty much knew everyone in town. Abacoa was in it's infancy and who would want to live out there so far from the beach.

Living In Jupiter Florida

Today Jupiter is quite a different place. Still very beautiful, plenty of green space but with just more people and more things to do. When I first moved here there was very little to do. We would go to West Palm to go out but now Jupiter has great waterfront restaurants, bars and activities just a short distance away. We have Harbourside Place , the Jupiter Yacht Club which is part of the Jupiter River Walk which runs from Ocean Way all along the Intracoastal to our Funky fishing village at the Jupiter Inlet. Here you will find Guanabanas, U-Tiki, Jetty's and the Square Grouper.

Carlin Park offers beaches, outdoor activities and more. Jupiter Dunes has a par 3 - 18 hole golf course and Dubois Park is right here as well. Up the street we have Jonathan Dickinson Park which is great for mountain biking and camping. We have a beautiful sandbar for boaters just off Jupiter Island and the Jupiter Inlet is right here as well for easy access to fishing and diving. The proximity to both indoor and outdoor activities is second to none. Think of something you enjoy and I'm sure we have it here.

Palm Beach International Raceway in West Jupiter has drag races, a carting track and a race course for the auto enthusiast. Don't miss test & tune each week where you can bring your own car and run the 1/4 mile track.  Sports lovers we have Spring training in Abacoa as well as the Abacoa Golf Club which is an excellent public course. For those who love indoor sports we have the Gardens Mall with world class shopping and Downtown at the Gardens with a Whole Foods Market. Major sports teams are just over an hour away including football, basketball and hockey.  Best of all for travelers Palm Beach Airport is less than 30 minutes away. Just a few of the best things I like about living in Jupiter Florida.
